You have the polarity incorrect. Gun needs to be DC negative, not DC positive. Same as welding flux core. Thats why you are getting excessive spatter and black soot.

He should have welded all the stove components together before putting it on that base, he would’ve been able to clamp it to a flat table and kept it in alignment, and he could’ve used a mig welder and finished it a lot faster

to much gas shielding and post flow. you actually want a little less for stainless art than you would want for actual welding... because you want the oxidation to occur a bit for the colors rather than preventing it with proper gas shielding and post flow time.

wasting money, dont wort it! is that to hard to make a welder machine to be conected to a 20 amp breaker plug, with internal battery to help this machine to work, the machine only going to get 15 amps from the electricall plug, the other 10 amps will be provide with a rechargable internal battery, wich is going to be connect to the power at all time meanwhile you weld!

All metals are TIG weldable except zinc which is the plating used on galvanized steel. The short list: steel, aluminum, stainless, copper, brass and titanium. And you can only use Argon or a mix of Argon/Helium for TIG welding. Argon/CO2 is only for MIG.

Wrap a copper coil around it ands make shower/ coffee water.

I think if you raised your chute a bit so as the grate was an inch or so below the bottom of the chute it would expose more of the wood ends for a bigger burn.

I always use small flush cut wire cutters to cut my fingernails, been doing that since I was a baby because my dad's a mechanic lol
